    Sorbara, Schumacher, McCann LLP’s breadth of experience in commercial litigation and administrative law complements our other areas of practice. 

    Our clients include financial institutions, land developers, retailers, publicly traded corporations, professionals and private companies and individuals.  When these clients become involved in disputes, we work with them to effectively resolve their problem with minimal disruption to their day-to-day business or lives.

    From the outset, we work with our clients to identify the issues involved in a dispute, determine the likely outcomes of litigation then identify and implement strategies which will achieve the best result available given the cost-benefit analysis dictated by the circumstances of the case.

    Our litigators have extensive courtroom experience and have appeared in all levels of courts in Ontario.  We act for plaintiffs and defendants in insolvencies, contractual disputes, development and real estate disputes, institutional debt collection and shareholder actions.  We make every effort, given the clients’ instruction to resolve disputes and avoid the time consuming and distracting aspects of litigation.  While we aggressively advance our clients’ cause or make a vigorous defence, we look for opportunities to resolve matters by way of settlement or alternative dispute resolution on favourable terms.
