Cynthia grew up in Markham, Ontario. Cynthia attended McMaster University in Hamilton and obtained an Honours B.A. in
both Political Science and Psychology where she was awarded membership into the Golden Key National Honours Society.
Cynthia then attended the University of Ottawa where she obtained her LL.B. At law school, Cynthia worked at the
Community Legal Aid Clinic both as a volunteer and then as a Student Caseworker. Cynthia completed her articles with a
full service law firm in Toronto and worked as an associate with the same firm after her call to the Ontario Bar in
June 2007.
Cynthia re-located to the Kitchener-Waterloo area and joined Sorbara, Schumacher, McCann LLP as an associate in
January 2008. Cynthia is a member of our litigation group and practices in the areas of civil litigation and
citizenship and immigration
Cynthia enjoys teaching Legal Research and Writing for Conestoga College. She also volunteers her time as a Unit
Council Member for the Canadian Cancer Society (Kitchener-Waterloo). In her spare time, Cynthia enjoys spending
time with her extended family and reading political biographies.
