Peter assists clients with a range of expropriation, municipal law, land use and development matters. These include expropriations by municipalities and provincial government ministries for major projects such as new highway sections and rapid transit systems.
Peter is happy to work with clients, consultants, municipalities and adverse parties to achieve negotiated outcomes that protect his clients’ interests. When legal proceedings are pursued, his background in legal research and writing helps him to develop and present effective legal arguments.
In addition to being a member of the Ontario and Canadian bar associations and the Ontario Expropriation Association, Peter is licensed by the Law Society of Upper Canada.
While he no longer provides any engineering services, Peter previously worked as an engineer and earned the Professional Engineer designation. He finds that his engineering background helps him to understand some of the technical issues that can arise in expropriation and land use matters.
Peter is pleased to assist voluntary and service organizations on a regular basis. In the past he has volunteered abroad for an extended period with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and more recently he helped newcomers to Canada to learn English at the St. George’s Centre for Adult ESL in Guelph, Ontario.
