Jessica Chyc joined SorbaraLaw’s Family Law Group after being called to the Ontario Bar in May 2020.  She is a passionate family lawyer who strives to ensure that her clients achieve their objectives expediently and inexpensively.  Jessica’s approach to family law is founded on communication and trust.  Jessica seeks to resolve complicated family law disputes through alternative dispute resolution methods whenever possible; however, when necessary, Jessica is a formidable advocate representing clients before both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice.

Jessica obtained her Juris Doctor from Western University’s Faculty of Law in 2019.  During her studies, Jessica was a caseworker on the Family Law Team at Community Legal Services; a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada; and she excelled as a skilled moot court and negotiations competitor.  Prior to commencing law school, Jessica graduated on the Dean’s Honour List with high distinction from the University of Guelph, earning a double major in Sociology and Criminal Justice/Public Policy.  As an undergraduate, Jessica enjoyed volunteering with the College of Social and Applied Human Sciences, as well as, assisting community based organizations aimed at alleviating food insecurity.

Jessica has worked in the family law department at SorbaraLaw since 2014. Jessica is proud to have grown up in a rural community near London, Ontario and enjoys spending her spare time with family, friends, and her dogs: Ares and Athena.
