Melinda is an associate specializing in corporate and commercial law with a focus on commercial real estate and financing transactions.

Prior to joining Sorbara Law, Melinda articled with a law firm in Waterloo Region where she was provided with a wide range of experience in a variety of practice areas.

Melinda received her B.A. with honours in Criminal Justice and Public Policy while attending the University of Guelph and completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa. During her time at the University of Ottawa she participated in the Nelligan O’Brien Payne Moot Court Competition and served as a mentor in the Women’s Legal Mentorship Program.

Prior to and throughout law school Melinda worked with many small businesses in the Region, from early seed start-ups to mid-sized corporations. During law school she was also chosen for the Entrepreneurial Business Law Internship.

Melinda is an active volunteer within the community. She is involved with an organization that has been a global influence in promoting restorative justice principles and can be found participating in a variety of events as a violinist.
