Jonathan (Jon) Hureau works out of our Waterloo office as an associate in our Corporate-Commercial Group.

Jon grew up in Burlington, Ontario. He attended Huron University College at Western University and graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, with distinction. Jon was a recipient of The Great Minds, Great Hearts Scholarship at Huron for exceptional academic achievement and community involvement.

Jon went on to complete a Master of Industrial Relations degree at Queen’s University where he also graduated from the Faculty of Law. During his time at law school, Jon was a student caseworker for Queen’s Legal Aid and the Queen’s Correctional Law Project. He received the McDougall-Watson Memorial Award from Queen’s Legal Aid in recognition of excellent client service and file management.

Jon completed his articling term at a Kitchener firm and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2011. He joined SorbaraLaw in November of 2021 and draws on his years of experience in private practice to assist our clients with a variety of business law needs.  

Jon contributes to the local community as a board member of Bridges to Belonging Waterloo Region.

A sports enthusiast, he stays active by playing golf and hockey. Jon also enjoys spending time with family and friends
