Jennifer Black is an experienced family lawyer, collaborative professional and mediator. Based primarily in the firm’s Waterloo office, she also regularly meets with clients in Guelph and Fergus and offers a virtual collaborative practice serving
clients across Ontario.
Jennifer is a trusted advisor to individuals navigating the emotional and often overwhelming experience of a separation. She is known for her compassionate, practical approach and her ability to guide clients through complex situations with clarity
and confidence.
Jennifer is aware of the financial and emotional burden that litigation can cause and devotes her practice to resolving matters outside of court. Jennifer has extensive experience and knowledge in areas including parenting arrangements, child support, spousal support, and property division. She is highly skilled in preparing separation agreements, cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts (prenups).
Jennifer holds an LL.B. from the University of Windsor and an Honours B.A. from the University of Waterloo. She has earned the designation of Advanced Collaborative Professional. Jennifer holds a certificate in family mediation from York University.
Deeply committed to her community and profession, Jennifer serves on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Association of Collaborative Professionals. She is a former co-chair of Collaborative Divorce Waterloo Region (serving over nine years), and a past Board Member of Marillac Place. Jennifer is an active member of several collaborative practice groups in Ontario.
