Nathan Henderson is an associate in our Corporate & Commercial and Finance & Lending Groups. Nathan maintains a diverse law practice in institutional and private financing, commercial and residential real estate, condominium development, and other corporate and commercial transactions. His practice also includes advising corporations, charities and foundations on corporate and commercial matters, including advice on regulatory compliance and privacy concerns.
Nathan is a proud son of Rexdale in the west end of Toronto, and today is happy to call Waterloo home. Nathan completed his Bachelors of Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo, and obtained his law degree from the University of Ottawa. Prior to law school, Nathan worked at an NGO in Madrid, Spain, contributing to campaigns for transparency and access to information in the EU. During his studies, Nathan worked at a global law firm focusing in trademarks and intellectual property, was on the executive of multiple student groups, and co-founded the Creative Law Collective, a group interested in the issues of law that face creators and in advocacy for creative industries.
Nathan completed his articles with SorbaraLaw before being called to the bar in 2021, and worked with the firm as a summer student for two years before commencing his articles. Nathan is also committed to investing in his community as a board member of Adventure 4 Change, a charity committed to addressing issues related to poverty and inequity for children, youth and families.
In his spare time, Nathan likes to perform, having starred in multiple musicals during his time at Waterloo and Ottawa. Nathan is also an avid basketball and ultimate frisbee player, NBA super fan, film buff, and enjoys adventuring through all of what life has to offer with his wife, friends and family.
