Jahdiel Larraguibel is a lawyer in the firm's Litigation Group, practising from the Waterloo office. Jahdiel has appeared before the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and Ontario Court of Justice. Before joining the firm, Jahdiel practised at leading intellectual property law firms, where he developed extensive experience in patent, trademark, and copyright litigation. He is particularly recognized for his experience with disputes involving cross-border elements, large-scale document productions, and technically complex subject matter requiring expert witnesses.
In addition to his litigation practice, Jahdiel advises businesses on intellectual property strategy, commercialization, and licensing, as well as privacy compliance and risk management, helping organizations protect valuable assets and navigate evolving legal obligations. Jahdiel earned his J.D. from Western University, where he concentrated in Intellectual Property, Information, and Technology Law. He also holds a B.Sc. from the University of Waterloo and an M.Sc. from the University of Guelph. Highlighting his expertise in Canadian privacy law, Jahdiel holds the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) designation.
Born and raised in Kitchener, he is proud to serve clients throughout Waterloo Region and beyond. Outside of work, Jahdiel spends much of his time keeping up with his young family, often exploring local community events and activities. When time permits, he enjoys tackling home renovation projects and pursuing what can generously be described as a golf game.
