Michelle is a lawyer at SorbaraLAW in the family law practice group. Michelle primarily works out of the Guelph office, but also meets with clients at the Fergus and Waterloo offices.

Michelle offers a nuanced understanding of family law issues, coupled with a compassionate approach, that sets her apart as a reliable and trustworthy advocate for her clients. Michelle assists clients with family law issues arising from separation
and divorce, including parenting time and decision-making responsibility, child and spousal support, and property division. She also helps clients plan for the future through cohabitation agreements and marriage contracts, often referred to as “prenups”. Michelle supports clients in resolving matters through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and, where necessary, court proceedings.

Before joining SorbaraLAW, Michelle also provided legal assistance to clients on real estate and estate planning matters. These areas are frequently intertwined with family law, which provides her with a comprehensive background understanding of the wider legal landscape pertinent to family law issues.

Michelle received her Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree from McGill University in 2018, and she graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2021. During her time at Osgoode, Michelle's passion for Family Law was evident. She served as President of the Family Law Association, and her dedication and academic excellence in this field were recognized with the James C. MacDonald Award, a testament to her strong academic performance in family law, her commitment to pursuing a career in the field, and her interest in alternative dispute resolution methods.

In her spare time, Michelle enjoys travelling and spending quality time with her family, friends, and two beloved dogs.
