Gary is a lawyer at SorbaraLAW specializing in real estate transactions. He has extensive experience in real estate matters having spent over three years as a real estate sales agent in Waterloo Region before returning to Wilfrid Laurier University in 1977 to continue his education in the Honours Business Program.

His experience includes a deep knowledge of title issues in the Land Registry System. The Land Registry System in Waterloo County, new Waterloo Region, began with farm lots in the German Company Tract (GCT). As the County urbanized, there were many subdivisions of the GCT farm lots which were quite complicated when trying to search a title. The lot books became a large cumbersome when trying to locate a root of title. The subsquent conversion to Land Titles went a long way to simplify title searching. However, there are still times when a detailed knowledge of Land Registry and GCT is necessary.

Gary has lectured at Conestoga College in the Law Clerks Program and has conducted seminars for the local real estate board. He is regularly consulted on unusual title matters.

Gary is a long time member of the Kiwanis Club of Kitchener-Waterloo and enjoys volunteering, motorcycling and spending time at the family cottage in Port Elgin.
