Puneet Shroff practices exclusively in the area of family law. He believes in empowering his clients with the law so that they can make informed decisions about their case and gain control of their situation. Puneet regularly advocates on behalf of clients in high conflict cases involving custody and access, child and spousal support, parental relocation, parental alienation, domestic violence, emergency orders, adoption, and complex property issues. He has successfully represented spouses, parents and extended family members at Court and in mediation.
Before attending the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, Puneet earned a specialized undergraduate degree in Psychology from York University. He discovered his passion for family law after his second year of law school and went on to article, and subsequently practice for several years as a family lawyer with one of the largest family law firms in Northwestern Ontario.
Puneet strives to provide as many options as possible for his clients to advance their cause. He believes that litigation is an effective tool in moving family cases forward, but sometimes it is not the best option. Puneet works with his clients to understand their objectives and plot the best course of action. He successfully brokers agreements for his clients at case and settlement conferences, and he employs alternative dispute resolution methods inclusive of mediation, whenever possible. He drafts marriage contracts, cohabitation agreements, and separation agreements that provide a detailed roadmap of how to resolve issues arising out of a separation.
As part of the Family Law Limited Scope Services Project, Puneet offers unbundled legal services and legal coaching to clients so they can get help with part of their case without the legal costs traditionally associated with full-service representation.
When he is not working, Puneet enjoys playing squash, globetrotting and spending time with his wife, son and family.
