Ryan’s practice comprehensively covers all aspects of family law including: custody and access; child and spousal support; and the division of family property. Ryan is experienced in resolving complex family law matters through the use of multiple dispute resolution methods; including negotiated settlement where possible; and litigation, when necessary. Ryan appears regularly before both the Ontario Court of Justice and the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Ryan joined SorbaraLaw’s family law practice group after being called to the Ontario Bar in 2015. As an undergraduate, Ryan studied criminal justice, public policy, and political science while also volunteering at the on-campus legal resource Centre.
The following year, Ryan enrolled at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Law and quickly became a contributing member to both the university and Windsor-Essex communities. As a law student, Ryan provided legal assistance to low-income members of the Windsor-Essex community in his role as a student litigator and he also enjoyed competing in the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition while also co-producing a current events themed radio show with listenership reaching Windsor, Detroit, and beyond. After earning his law degree, Ryan articled for a respected Hamilton law firm.
Ryan grew up in Guelph, Ontario and he is an avid reader who enjoys live music, watching baseball, and back-country camping with his wife, Olivia.
