UPDATE RE: COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS)

As measures to address COVID-19 continue to evolve, SorbaraLaw remains committed to the well-being of our employees, clients, and community partners.

Effective March 25, 2020, the Provincial government ordered the closure of all non-essential workplaces for a period of 14 days in order to help contain the spread of the virus. Law firms have been deemed to be essential workplaces that are exempt from this closure.

SorbaraLaw continues to operate in the normal course to the fullest extent possible. We remain ready, willing, and able to meet all of our clients’ legal needs and to assist however we can.

We have taken appropriate measures and made operational changes to reduce and/or rearrange staff and institute appropriate remote work arrangements in order to promote social distancing. We have also instituted enhanced sanitation efforts at all of our locations.

To help minimize personal interactions as much as possible, we have closed our offices to the public and we are, wherever possible, making arrangements for virtual meetings and conferences, and execution of documents by electronic means where permitted. If you require an appointment at any of our offices that cannot be accommodated virtually, please contact the lawyer you are dealing with to make a pre-arranged appointment. We will require anyone attending our office to confirm that they and anyone living in their household or to whom they have been exposed have not travelled outside of Canada within the past 14 days and that they or anyone they have been exposed to are not experiencing any symptoms of the Coronavirus – fever, cough, difficulty breathing.

We are asking all clients and community partners to assist in these efforts and to abide by the applicable governmental guidelines.

Thank you for your co-operation.
